Sciatica is caused by the irritation to your lower spine and pelvis

Sciatica is typically caused by nerve root compression, usually due to intervertebral disk herniation (see Movement and Cerebellar Disorders: Dystonias ), bony irregularities (eg, osteoarthritic osteophytes, spondylolisthesis), or, much less often, intraspinal tumor or abscess. Compression may occur within the spinal canal or intervertebral foramen. Sciatica is usually diagnosed through a physical exam and an MRI scan. But of the 1.5 million MRI scans performed each year, only about 20 percent revealed a condition serious enough to be treated surgically. Sciatica is pain resulting from irritation of the sciatic nerve . Sciatica pain is typically felt from the low back to behind the thigh and radiating down below the knee.

Sciatica is a term for pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, anywhere from the lower back, buttocks, down the back of the leg, to the foot. There may also be weakness, numbness, tingling, particularly in the leg and/or foot. Sciatica is a sensation of leg pain, weakness, numbness or tingling that originates from a sciatic nerve. The two sciatic nerves each run from the lower back through the hip and buttock and down the back of the leg. Sciatica is pain that runs along your leg and often accompanies low back pain. The sciatic nerve is a large nerve (as wide as your thumb) that is made up of branches from the lowest part of the spinal cord.

Sciatica is caused by the irritation to your lower spine and pelvis. There are muscles that are tighter in your buttock and lower back, and there may be some inflammation or even disc irritations. Sciatica is caused by nerves in the back. Typically, for what ever reason, they're being irritated. Sciatica is the name of a class of symptoms, which result from compression of the nerve roots of the sciatic nerve, or the sciatic nerve itself. The symptoms that result from this compression are most often pain, numbness, or tingling.

Sciatica is the inflammation or irritation of the sciatic nerve which originates in your lower back and travels down your back to the hips into the back of the leg and extends to the lower leg. You have two sciatic nerves, one in each leg. Sciatica is the compression of the nerves exiting the spinal column down the extremities. When a disk in the spinal column becomes misaligned, it presses on the nerves running along the spine. Sciatica is characterized the pain starting in lower back and extending down to buttocks, back of the thigh and leg. It is mainly caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve.

Sciatica is only a descriptive term, not a diagnostic one. In this article, I shall explain why this is so & also explain some of the main causes of Sciatica. Sciatica is not a muscular ache so massaging would not work on it, and it could even cause more injury. It is a nerve pain which could get worse if one is not moving at all or if one is exerting too much effort like lifting heavy things to and fro. Sciatica is no exception, and yes, specific exercises and stretches play a foundational role in such maintenance. The nature, intensity, duration, and timing of these exercises and stretches, are just as vital to the recovery, as is the awareness of the need to do them, so, beware.
