Sciatica is a painful symptom

Sciatica is a painful symptom

Sciatica is the acute or chronic feeling of pain, hot or cold, numbness, weakness, “electric shocks” or strange sensations, starting near your seat and going down your leg. It is a condition for which some 20 million Americans will seek help this year. Sciatica is pain caused by general compression and/or irritation of one of five nerve roots that are branches of the sciatic nerve. The pain is felt in the lower back, buttock, and/or various parts of the leg and foot. Sciatica is a disease is controllable and can win hands down with all the expert advice contained in this article. You may have to learn some techniques to stretch the major muscle parts that act as a trigger for sciatica.

Sciatica is a symptom, which is caused due to the compression of the nerve roots that give rise to the sciatic nerve. It may as well cause due to the compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve itself. Sciatica is a painful inflammation of the sciatic nerve that supplies the tissues of the thigh, lower leg and foot. It is commonly caused by a pinching or irritation of one or more of the spinal nerve roots that are between the vertebrae of the lower back. Sciatica is pressure on the sciatic nerve that runs from the buttocks down the backs of the legs. Sciatica is often caused by a herniated disk in the back.

Sciatica is a painful symptom that may be caused by compressive forces resulting in irritation of the sciatic nerve or any of its nerve roots. It is most commonly associated with stinging, burning or numbing pain that may be experienced in the lower back, buttock, thigh, leg, or foot. Sciatica is actually a set of symptoms, rather than a diagnosis in itself, and can be caused by several things?some not serious and some very serious indeed. This is why, if you get sciatica, you MUST get it checked out by a health professional (doctor, physiotherapist or chiropractor) before you try and self-treat. Sciatica is so often misdiagnosed and mistreated, and with the possibility of varying degrees of inflammation present, the way forward can so often become a confusing one. The misdiagnosis is largely due to the fact that sciatic pain can be felt in a variety of places, and with a variety of intensities within these places.

Sciatica is one of the easiest things to prevent. The best way to do this my keeping the muscles around the sciatic nerve stretched. Sciatica is only a descriptive term, not a diagnostic one. Therefore, two people may be presenting with exactly the same signs and symptoms as a result of sciatica, yet they may have two completely different causes. Sciatica is a set of symptoms rather than a diagnosis in itself. Sometimes sciatica pain can be confused with other serious medical conditions such as a tumour or infection so a careful diagnosis is always important.

Sciatica is a set of symptoms , not a diagnosis in itself (meaning it does not explain the cause of the pain). Sciatica (radiculopathy) is a general term that refers to pain caused by compression or irritation of one or more nerves exiting the lower spine that make up the sciatic nerve, and there are a number of different conditions that can cause this. Sciatica is caused by a compression of one or more of the five sets of nerve roots in the lower back. These compressions are typically caused by a disc rupture or bone spur in the lumbar spine.
